Bucket List [UPDATE]

See what can happen when you list out your goals?! Since creating my bucket list less than a week ago I've already crossed something off!!

This weekend I saw Toy Story 3/Prince of Persia AT A DRIVE-IN MOVIE!

See a drive in movie

And added something else:

Ride in a hot air balloon

Seriously, bucket lists are great! Fill them with long term and short term stuff, and throw on some stuff you've already done to make yourself feel good! It's an awesome feeling to cross something off!!!

Peace, blessings, and call me up if you want to help me cross something off my list!!

Oh, and if you want to help me feel like people read this....SUBMIT YOUR OWN BUCKET LIST!! And/or suggest a post-topic. Put a little love in my glove (comment) box people!! xoxo

Pet Peeves

To say that I have a few pet peeves is an understatement. Anyone who knows me is probably laughing at that statement. Not using turn signals, waking up early, people who don't hold doors, and movie prices are the few I could think of off the top of my head. But there are few things that piss me off more than plan-cancelling.

DISCLAIMER: This post is not in response to anything in particular, no recent event in my life. Keep in mind that just because you have ever cancelled plans on me does not mean I hate you or this post is directed at you, in fact I probably love you if I'm making plans with you. So stop being so paranoid, because paranoia ain't the way to live your life from day to day (name that song and you win 1000 points and my eternal respect). Also, I am not claiming to never have canceled plans in my life, so chillax.
Maybe it's just my OCD tendencies kicking in, but I'm big on putting things together, from going to dinner, to parties, to large scale road trips to limos. I'm almost always that person partially because my parents were always the ones wanting to know all the info about plans and partially because I like (borderline need) to know where I'm going, when I'm going, who I'm going with and how I'm getting there. It's just I NEED TO KNOW. However, it has been brought to my attention time and time again that people have little to no disregard for the effort it takes to plan even the simplest of dinner-outings (or at least I feel like it's a huge ordeal-who's driving who? when does so-and-so get off work? where are we going? what time? etc.) And before you jump at me, yes, I know life gets in the way of life (trust me, I know) but that only happens so much and there are some things that just cannot happen spur of the moment. There are some things that you need to give a definite answer to several days in advance and be counted on to be there (whether it be to be the driver or to pay someone back for a ticket purchased or whatever). I can't begin to tell you how many movie tickets I've had to pay for because people backed out on me. And yes, I'm a pushover and am too much of a pansy to demand that people pay, so I guess that's on me. But that's not the point. The point is that people today need to learn to use a calendar and make certain they can make a particular event or else make their uncertainty clear to the planner. Because, speaking for myself only, I get really excited to do things with people, and when you bail last minute I get super bummed because I've probably been looking forward to seeing you (because you're probably awesome). Plus, bailing might mean that the whole plan has to change last minute meaning I have to send a thousand texts/make ten phone calls straightening out everything. Or you bailing might cause a chain reaction meaning that everything just falls apart and I'm uber-bummed. Bottom line: when you commit to plans, try and give an honest analysis of if you can be there. I'd rather someone tell me straight up they can't come then bail two days before. It's common courtesy and saves the planner a shit-ton of stress.

Time Flies When You're...Living

So, it's kinda fucking nuts to me that a year has passed since I graduated high school. Like, I literally physically feel weird looking at the pictures of the class of 2010 in the stupid cap and gowns that they gave back seconds after the pictures were taken. I feel like that was me freaking yesterday and a whole year has passed since it was me. First off, this whole thing- I know- is super cliche' and boring, but there really are times that time just bitch slaps you in the face and is like 'HEY! AS YOUR SITTING THERE WRITING YOUR INSIGNIFICANT THOUGHTS I'M FREAKIN' FLYING BY!!' (Time's a sassy lady, like her bff Mother Nature). And I know every one's heard a million times that time flies and youth is wasted on the young, blah blah blah, but like most things that people tell you, they're meaningless drones until you experience it firsthand. It's incredible how much can happen in a year, how many new people you meet, how many memories you make, how many all nighters you pull, blog posts you write. Not that I'm dissatisfied at all with the past year, in fact, I wouldn't change a thing I'm so thankful for the people I shared it with-old friends, new friends, re-acquainted friends, family, basically-family- and the chances I've been lucky enough to have and the experiences I've gained. It just all passes by so fast. And we don't even notice until we hit some kind of marker that makes us step back and go 'shit, has it really been a decade since Y2K?' or 'holy crap my brother is going to be looking at colleges?' or 'damn! I've only known you a year? it feels like a lifetime!' It's fucking nuts.

So carpe die(h)m. Seriously. Time flies when you're not looking. Live whatever way leaves you with a heart full of memories and a mind empty of regrets.

Peace out, cub scouts.

Many Apologies to the Wifey

So, after playing a few vigorous games of Bananagrams, Clue, and Beatles Trivial Pursuit with the wifey today she reminded me that I had forgotten to post some excellent 'Spotted Around Campus' photos she's submitted like a month ago. So without even further ado than has already been had, I give you:

Spotted On Campus: Drexel Edition

Fighting negativity with love, I like your style graffiti-er.

I mean, sometimes writers block strikes strikes the best of us at the worst of times....

Might I add that stall graffiti/spotted on campus pics are my absolute favorite? (for future reference)

Some more Internet finds. Oh Internet, what would I waste my time on without you?

WOW: Word of the Week

Stormtrooper Effect (noun):

Imperial Stormtroopers in the original Star Wars trilogy, despite overwhelming numbers, professional military education and training, full armour, military-grade firepower, and noticeable combat effectiveness against non-speaking characters, were incapable of seriously harming or indeed even hitting the film's protagonists. At one point Obi-Wan Kenobi even comments on Stormtrooper effectiveness to Luke Skywalker when the pair find the destroyed Jawa sandcrawler, saying "These blast-points... Only Imperial Stormtroopers are so precise." In fact, at the beginning of Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, the Stormtroopers are portrayed as lethal when invading a rebel ship, overwhelming it and killing most resistance in what seems like mere moments, whereas later the main protagonists would dispatch many of them without ever receiving a scratch in return.

example: "The Nazis in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade must all have studied at the Imperial Stormtrooper School of Marksmanship."

Noises In My House That Annoy Me (WIP)

> The Internet router box which beeps every 18 minutes telling us it has a low battery
> The random watch in my brothers lunchbox that has an alarm set for 1:47AM and cannot be shut off
> The ice cream man who makes 7 trips down my block in an hour
> My mother asking "How was clown school?" when I return from Comic Con*
> The sound of everything when you have water in your ear

*In her defense, for some reason unknown to me, she actually was under the impression that I was at a clown convention. I'm not sure why. But she didn't explain that when she asked, so I assumed she was mocking me.

More to come!

Forged In the Fires of Mount Doom....
